Is it possible to change photos from .bitmap to .jpeg???? and how???

My personal photos always used to come up as .jpeg but now they are .bitmap

.bitmap is okay for facebook but I can't post any photos on my 360 blog anymore...Is it possible to change photos from .bitmap to .jpeg???? and how???
Just copy them over to your paint. Select your image%26gt;right click%26gt;select copy

go to accessories%26gt;Open up paint%26gt; go to the drop down menu and select paste.

then you go to file drop down and select save as (not just save). Most of them will allow you to save as (type) jpeg and then you just put it in your pictures. Is it possible to change photos from .bitmap to .jpeg???? and how???
right click%26gt; ';save as';%26gt;scroll down%26gt;';jpeg%26gt;save
this is the simplest method i know. open the picture in paint, the go to file, then to ';save as';

then when the window opens asking u what u want to save it as, go down to ';save as type'; options will appear, including the JPEG format. hope this helps!
You can convert a bmp to a jpg with the windows paint program in the accessories section of your start menu.

Also, if you are talking about saving pictures, try this:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/810978

a. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.

b. Click the General tab.

c. Under Temporary Internet files, click Delete Files.

d. When you are prompted to delete all temporary Internet files, click OK.
Go to the pic click on it and then go to FILE and use SAVE AS...look at the posible choices...choose JPEG...then SAVE
there is a free program for simple image editing. That allows you to open image files in it and save them as other file types as one of its many features.

Just download the latest version and plugins and install it then select for it to open all image types. Then open the image and save it as the new image type. Make sure to open the options dialog and select your preferences for image quality.

This is up to you , but it is what I do and I find it the best option. For gif files you must first stop the gif in one of the options before you can save it as a different file type. Can also save text files as images.
Something you loaded change your default picture viewer, and the default save type. iPod and it's software is a virus that does this. Some other stuff does too.
I don't know...I've never figured out how to do that.
Just right click the picture adn click ';save as'; Then there should be a thing that says bitmap, click on it and it will give you a list of file types, then select J-PEG.
