What are some cool photo effects?

I want to change photos to make them look different, like on paintshop pro you can do artistic effects and stuff... anybody know anythin different?!

And also in the aly %26amp; aj video potential break up song, there is a part where it has there faces with pink white and yellow, it was a cool effect and i was wondering how you would do that without painting over without opaqueness, because it looses the photo quality!What are some cool photo effects?

These suggested ways of changing your photos came from before everything was done by the local photo shop.



1. Make a dark room and buy the chemicals and photo paper needed. Now you will have control over the ';degree of development you let the photos mature into';. 2. You can fade the effects from light to dark by putting one side of the photo into the solutions slower than the other side and by placing the last liquid on one half first and longer to slow the one side and speed the other...which produces different lighting contrast and effects on the finished photo.



3. Painting over the photo with special paints , an old school technique is also a fun and creatively controlled effect to your photos to give them a differnt spin !



4. Reshoot your photos with different lenses that put effects into the newly shot photos of the old photographs !



5. Cut and fragment your photos. Re-design them and position the ';cut parts'; of the whole photo or parts of it with space left in between the ';puzzle pieces'; for fun and impactive new effects.

THe effect you are asking about is probably something like the Paintbrush Tool: This tool applies a thick, opaque layer of the active color to the area where you click and drag. Like a real paintbrush, the color fades when you drag more quickly and also fades along the edges. The size of the brush can be changed in the Tool Options Palette.

There is also Smudge Tool: This tool simulates a finger smearing the ';paint'; in the image. It's a directional effect; if you click in a red area and drag into a white area, you'll end up creating a small pink area in the white section. Going in the opposite direction makes a pink area in the red section. Also, if you drag faster, the effect is rougher and not as intense. The size of the area can be changed in the Tool Options Palette.

Brightness and Contrast...



This command changes the brightness and contrast of the active layer (the whole image if it only has one layer) or a selected area.



Hue and Saturation...



The term hue describes color based on a ';color wheel'; containing all the colors of the visible spectrum. Adjusting hue changes the color in the active layer (the whole image if it only has one layer) or the selected area to new colors around the color wheel. All the colors in the image or selected area are shifted by the same degree around the wheel. The saturation control adjusts the intensity of the colors in the image. Adjusting hue and saturation for an image are similar to tuning the tint and color on a TV.



Tone Adjustment...



This command selectively lightens and darkens the highlights, midtones, and shadows of the active layer (the whole image if it only has one layer) or selected area. Adjusting the highlights, midtones and shadows affects the contrast of the image. The Tone Adjustment command is similar to the Brightness and Contrast command, but it offers more control.



Color Reduction...



This command reduces the number of color/gray brightness levels in the image to the number you set. Pixels are mapped to the new value that is the closest.



Color Balance...



This command allows you to adjust the values of the color channels, from cyan to red, magenta to green, and yellow to blue, separated by highlights, midtones, or shadows.





Color Tone...



This command offers a single slider that lets you change the overall tone of a photo. All colors are affected.



I have learned by just playing on the program. experimenting allot.. the advantage to having a digital camera.

I have learned also to NEVER delete a picture on your camera. NO matter what it looks like on your display when you upload it and edit it it could very well turn into a GREAT pictures.

and always edit from a copy... and burn your original pictures onto a CD.. and every 3 years re burn them. label them with date month and year taken as well as a title.

YOu can also burn a cd of your edited pictures and print them off at a camera store... just to see what they will look like before doing another batch of the same effect.
pretty much what effects and filters come with paintshop pro are what you have to work with, and also adjust image levels and curves, there may be plugins you could also add-on,

My favorite photo effect is black and white with a splash of color. You just take your color photo, make a black and white or grayscale layer over it, then erase the part you want to be color.
