How do I change a photo into black and white using Adobe Photoshop?

I just got photoshop and its kind of an *** to figure everything out.How do I change a photo into black and white using Adobe Photoshop?

Press Ctrl + U and then move the saturation all the way down. That should do it.
check the menus out- Image- adjust there are heaps of options there



later learn about layers and styles
- On menu Image -%26gt; Adjusments -%26gt; Desaturate or press Shift+Ctrl+U

- On menu Image -%26gt; Mode -%26gt; Grayscale

or

Open the image copy all of it then File - new

Change the mode to Grayscale. Click OK
